Appraisal Disclaimer

These reports are not a guarantee or a certificate but an appraisal or invoice. The contents represent the opinion of the grader (Mikado Diamonds) at the time of the inspection. The recipient has the faculty to consult a credentialed Gemologist about the information contained herein. At the time of examination, the grading of gemstone was based on use of one or more of the following devices: 10X magnification, measuring device, electronic carat balance, light source, master comparison diamonds and ultraviolet light. Limitations may apply if gemstone is graded within setting.

Appraisals

Our appraisals go off the lab certificate of the loose diamond or ring, if provided. Otherwise, appraisals are based on the estimated retail replacement value. Appraisals are generated using Brite.co software and an optional insurance offer/quote may be included when you receive the appraisal.

Product Descriptions

Mikado Diamonds makes all reasonable efforts to display the products listed for sale as accurately as possible. We make every attempt to ensure that our online catalog is as accurate and complete as possible. To give you the opportunity to view our products in great detail, some products may appear larger or smaller than their actual size in our photographs; and since every computer monitor is set differently, color and size may vary slightly. Cameras, photography environments and display properties of your computer monitor will affect colors you see on your screen. While Mikado Diamonds makes every effort to provide complete and accurate descriptions, Mikado Diamonds does not guarantee product descriptions and other content are accurate, complete or error free. While Mikado Diamonds makes every effort to ensure that our products are described and priced accurately, if an item is deemed to be priced incorrectly, Mikado Diamonds reserves the right to refuse sale of that item. If the pricing error is discovered after payment has been finalized, Mikado Diamonds reserves the right to cancel the sale and refund the transaction in full. If a product offered by Mikado Diamonds is not as described, your sole remedy is to return it in unused condition within 30 days.

In a case where a specified carat weight for the center diamond is not available, the replacement will not be less than the stated weight. If the specified color or clarity is not available, we will only substitute with items of higher quality. The stated carat weights for settings are estimates and may differ slightly from the stated weights.

Product Availability and Pricing

Data, including prices, may be inaccurately displayed on www.mikadodiamonds.com due to system or typographical errors. While we make every attempt to avoid these errors, they may occur. We reserve the right to correct any and all errors when they do occur, and we do not honor inaccurate or erroneous prices. If a product's listed price is lower than its actual price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping the product or cancel the order and notify you of such cancelation. If the order has been shipped, you agree to either return the product or pay the difference between the actual and charged prices. Our prices are also subject to change without notice. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. We do not negotiate prices on our products and all our prices are final.

Comparison Purchasing

To keep our prices low, we do not allow comparison purchasing. Comparison purchasing is the act of buying several items with the intent of keeping the one you like best and returning the remainder. This causes undue restocking and inventory overhead and can be very costly. To confirm the quality of a jewelry item, please contact one of our Diamond and Jewelry Consultants at [email protected], and we would be happy to help you make your choice.

Layaway Cancelation

A restock fee will be charged for any canceled or returned items purchased on layaway. Any layaway plan not paid in full after 6 months will be assessed a fee of 2.5% of the total price per month until the plan is paid in full. The additional fee of 2.5% per month starts accumulating 6 months after the layaway plan is initiated and each calendar month thereafter. All fees must be paid in full before the item is considered paid. Any fees accumulated on the layaway plan will be deducted from the refund amount for a canceled order, in addition to the restock fee. For payments more than 60 days old refunds may be issued by an alternative source, at the company’s discretion, such as bank transfer or check.

Financing Cancelation

A 10% restocking fee will be charged for any canceled or returned items purchased with financing. Once the order is confirmed the restocking fee is applied to any issued refund, for any reason. The purchase may be eligible for exchange without a restocking fee. Please contact [email protected] for assistance with an exchange.

Shipping Insurance

Shipping insurance is provided for each shipment and covers the package while in transit. Mikado Diamonds is not responsible in any way for your item(s) after they have been delivered by the carrier (USPS or FedEx). If you have concerns about receiving your package you may consider upgrading your shipping to USPS Registered Mail at checkout. We request signature confirmation on all shipments over $250. Collection of signatures is the responsibility of the shipping carrier.

Conflict Free

The diamonds offered for sale have been sourced from legitimate sources not involved in funding conflict and in compliance with United Nations resolutions. Mikado Diamonds hereby guarantees that these diamonds are conflict-free based on personal knowledge and/or written guarantees provided by the supplier(s) of these diamonds.

Moissanite Weights

Unless otherwise noted, stated moissanite carat weight is based on diamond equivalent weight. For example, a 6.50 mm round diamond is approximately 1.00 carat. The actual weight of a 6.50 mm moissanite is approximately 0.88 carat. Please visit the Education Center for additional information regarding moissanite average carat weight (MOI) and their diamond equivalent weight (DEW).

Rhodium Plating

Rhodium plating of white gold jewelry (but not platinum) is a common trade practice. During production yellow gold is mixed with other white metals to produce a white gold product of the desired 10k, 14k, or 18k purity. This product will still have a faint yellow tone which is why it is common practice to plate white gold jewelry in an expensive metal called rhodium. Rhodium is what gives white gold the bright shiny white color people are accustomed to seeing. Under normal conditions, this plating should last several years and can be reapplied as needed to revive your piece of jewelry to look brand new again.
